INSTALLATION:
Step 1. Loosen hardware needed to remove the main post from the base.
Step 2. Apply a piece of tape to the backside and sides of the post. This will give the set screws on the adapter something to bite into)
Step 3. Slide on the Fang Stem Adapter. The tapered end will face the saddle platform base. The flat end will face kick plate.
On a treestand, the flared portion of the adapter is meant to block the sticks from sliding completely off. Position the adapter according to how you carry your setup while climbing.
Step 4. Tighten the set screws to secure the base.
Step 5. Reinstall the hardware and platform base
Step 6. Install the clips onto your sticks. You may need to use tape so that the clips aren't loose and dont slide around on your sticks. Make sure that all the clips are aligned on your sticks so that they stack in the best, tightest configured, layout.
Step 7 *Optional. Install your platform hooks onto your saddle. *PRO TIP: On some platforms, you may find it easier to mount the platform onto the hooks if you first tie a small loop of paracord to each corner of the hinged side of the platform base. See photo for reference.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- My clips look discolored. Why is that? Does it affect anything?
The clips on a complete system are now being delivered fully Acetone Welded. The acetone has the affect of causing discoloration on the areas it contacts. This process makes the bond between the FANGS and the CLIPS stronger. It's only a benefit.
- What happens if my Clips crack or break?
If you get into a bind and need to emergency repair your Clips or Fangs, you can do so by applying acetone to the cracked areas. Apply to both surfaces and wait a few seconds for the acetone to take effect. Next, press the two sides together. Use a clamp for best results. Let the broken part sit for 1 to 2 hrs and you can go back to using the items. In most cases, the new bond is stronger than original. CONTACT US at Shop.DBJoutdoors@Gmail.com when this occurs.
